— Often attributed to Mark TwainBefore you reach your campsite, you'll embark on an immersive International Outdoor Education Training — seven days of hands-on, community-driven preparation that equips you with hard skills, soft skills, and a global perspective you'll carry for life.
You'll gather at our Walsrode campsite in the German forest with an extraordinary group of international participants. Over one intense and joyful week, you'll train, bond, challenge yourself, and arrive at camp fully prepared — and already part of an unforgettable team.
The International Camp Counselor (ICC) Training covers everything from working with children and managing homesickness, to legal responsibilities, large-group facilitation, survival techniques, and team building. You'll also complete a Bronze Cross Lifeguard course as part of the standard training, with an optional 1.5-day First Aid course available too. Specialised sessions are provided for Language Coaches, High Ropes instructors, Survival & Adventure, and Arts & Crafts — German-speaking staff can also opt into GEOlino training, leading a newspaper and photography workshop.
